Wishing you a Joy-filled Holiday Season
and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
Some artwork is featured at the end of this blog, but I'm writing about a hobby today... I'm an avid reader of fiction and Winter is when I do most of my reading. Most people know I garden as a hobby during the Spring, Summer and Fall, reading fiction is my #1 activity in the Winter whenever I take a break from painting. And, I've read a lot since Thanksgiving... We have a charming and well-stocked library just a few steps away, so I'm working through the recent acquisitions section, although I think "recent" is used a little generously in some cases. Here's my list so far this year. Have you read any of them? Do you have books you've read that you love? I'd welcome suggestions.
In no particular order other than the order in which I read them:
Tara Conklin The House Girl
Theresa Anne Fowler A Good Neighborhood
Elizabeth Gilbert City of Girls
Anthony Doerr All the Light We Cannot See (not a new book, but I wanted to read it before I read his new one Cloud Cuckoo Land)
Binnie Kirsherbaum Rabbits for Food
Sue Monk Kidd The Book of Longings
Ann Patchett The Dutch House
Ann Napolitano Dear Edward
Kim Michele Richardson The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek
Have a wonderful holiday and a happy, healthy and peaceful start to 2022!
I think these are about finished, but I'm going to wait a few days and see what I think then.
