July News

Hello Friends,

What’s inspiring you this summer?

Ron and I have just returned from a wonderful June and July adventure in our trusty camper van, Traveler. We left Sarasota on June 1 and arrived in Canada a week later. My favorite stop was Old Québec—the only fortified (walled) city north of Mexico. With more than 400 years of history, its beautiful architecture, winding streets, and rich textures were endlessly inspiring. Travel always has a way of refreshing my creative perspective, and I returned home with new ideas already taking shape.

Before our trip, spring was devoted to renovating our 1925 Sarasota home. It’s the second house we’ve restored since moving here, but this one is especially rewarding. Along with the main house, we transformed the detached garage into my new studio and refreshed the guest cottage. Together they surround a peaceful courtyard that has become an extension of both our home and my creative life. It finally feels like the perfect place to make art.

Now I’m happily back in the studio, putting the finishing touches on a painting that has been evolving since April, preparing for an upcoming exhibition, experimenting with new materials, and developing my next body of work. One of my favorite parts of the process is transforming a painting into a woven piece. Below is a glimpse of the painting in progress alongside a paper mock-up of how it will look once woven.

I’m also grateful to share that three of my paintings found new homes this spring through Tampa's Drew Marc Gallery. It's always a joy to know my work is living with collectors who connect with it. If you're in the Tampa area, I hope you'll stop by the gallery—or browse their collection online—to see available works.

Thank you, as always, for following my artistic journey and for being part of this community. I look forward to sharing new work with you in the months ahead.

Stay happy and peaceful - and cool!

All the best,

Adrienne
