A Note From My Studio - November 2021

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it's all about connecting with and helping others and taking time to realize and give thanks for all the blessings this world offers us.

I have had a wonderful Fall - in the studio creating new work and finding new homes with lovely collectors for many of my paintings. The painting to the right - Collective Consciousness - is one of my absolute favorite paintings of the Fall. A 36" square painting on canvas, it sold to a lovely friend as soon as it was finished and is a stunning addition to their already beautiful home.

We've made our southward migration for the winter with the birds and are happily settling in our place at Longboat Key, near Sarasota. The good news is that the eagles are back! Just down the street from us is a very tall pine with a huge eagle's nest in it. I saw them yesterday and one circled overhead while I was walking Cooper & Lilly down the street. Did I get a little video? Nope! My phone was at home, so I just had to stand there and admire the creature as he/she flew over me at low altitude. I don't know much about eagles, but intend to do some research during my stay this winter.

I'm a big reader, mostly fiction. I've recently read Richard Power's Bewilderment and today, got The House Girl by Tara Conklin from the little library near us at Longboat Key. Others on my short list? All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr... then maybe his newest Cloud Cuckoo Land; The Dutch House by Ann Patchett; The Book of Two Ways and  Wish You Were Here by Jodi Picoult. What have you read that you loved? What are you reading now?

You can check out more recent work by clicking right HERE or going to the Recent Favorites tab on the website. The two below are Safe Harbor (l) and Safe Passage (r).

And the final painting (blue & orange below) is Kismet. It's 36" x 36" on canvas. As always, I'd love to hear from you with questions, comments, or even book suggestions for the Fall & Winter months. laugh
